Engine whine (rpm dependent)
Ok, so since a couple of months after I purchased my car last March I noticed that there was an rpm dependent whine coming from under the hood. I chalked it up to the fact that the oil was incredibly hot from the abuse at the Dragon and it was a timing chain tensioner. Whatever, no big deal. changed from Mobil 1 to Amsoil and never looked back.
So still today it makes the same noise, not worse, not better, but it does kinda make me wonder what's going on under there.
I have heard the timing chain tensioner noise in another S, and it sounded different. Recently I drove another person's AP2 and their engine did NOT make this noise at all, so
Any ideas? My car is bone stock minus tires and brakes so there's no CAI noise or exhaust noise.

Could be the serp belt, try spraying wd40 on it while it is running (the wd40 will splatter a little since the motor is running). You can also take of the serp belt to see if the noise is gone to know if it really is a engine related noise or a belt driver accessory. GL!
