This morning on my way to work,I luckily avoided an accident, but also inquired a problem aswell. This particular road was only 2 lanes, go oposite directions. I was driving in one direction and the asshole driving in the other decided he wanted to pass the car in front of him, so he moves over into my lane coming at me head on, I was able to see it and call it early. I yanked the wheel to the right avoiding the collision. Here's the problem, When I cranked it to the right the steering column locked up and sent me spinning off the side of the road. Half on, half off the shoulder. I have had problems with my eps before but nothing where it seized like it did on me this morning. My problems before were, it would either be on or off when I started the car.

This morning I tried starting the car numerous times to see if the steering would unlock. No luck, I popped the hood to fool around with the connector leading to the eps electronic control box on top of the steering rack itself. no luck. After about 45min of letting the car sit in the off position, it unlocked and was able to find my way safely, but weary that this might happen again on a turn or something. Also after it unlocked I didn't have any power steering, and an eps light.

Please if you can assist me with whatever, will be greatly appreciated.
