Default EPS Trouble

So my EPS will cutout while I am driving.

It seems to happen after an hour of running the AC. I think water or something is shorting out the wire but I don't have any other proof other than running the AC seems to trigger it. I have tried restarting but the EPS will die as soon as I turn the wheel. It usually takes an hour of driving without the AC on to get the EPS back.

Today I went on a 5 hour trip and wasn't using the AC but the EPS died at about 2 hours in when I had to break heavily for traffic. This case is my only indication that it isn't water but AC always works like a charm to trigger it.

My washer fluid resevior is also leaking and I question if this is possibly doing something.

I have been to Honda twice now and they summed it up to bad ground connections but that hasn't solved the problem.

Anyone have an idea as to what is causing this?

whenever it cuts out again. turn the car off , let it set for at least 8 mins, then restart the car, see if it works.

if it's heat build up in the motor cause the problem, the control unit will restore the power assist gradually unit is fully restored after about 8 mins with the key off.
The EPS system has 4 grounds.

I suppose it could be heat related. It was 99 degrees when it failed yesterday and it failed as soon as I pulled off 95. Possibly overheated because of the loss of air flow?

Has anyone experienced EPS loss because of heat?

if it's heat related, it should be high resistances in the motor circuit, not outside temp.
No i have not experienced eps loss because of heat.
