I guess on the other hand, It may be sooner than later, my exact reason for having the clutch on hand instead of having to wait for it to come in/ship. The 1st time it slips, it's gone....

BLACKS2KTurbo- Your car must be absolutely sick fast. Can you describe the power to all of us with that set up? Dyno #'s!!!! How do you keep the rest of the driveline intact with that set-up?Inquiring minds want to know!!!! Phil

YS- thanks for the offer on the help when it comes clutch time, as I will PM you when the time comes. Phil

Dave, Thanks for everything, I can't wait to get my project finished as the anticipation is killing me. I have this sneaky suspicion the clutch will go in next weekend. I will update and let you know all the details of the upcoming adventure. Phil

Phil,
As it stands right now... I'm sure the only thing holding my drivetrain together is the fact that I'm back running stock rims / tires. The wheel spin is the "strain releif". The car is wicked fast and it's not even tapping it's potential yet. Running only 4.5 psi of boost I was able to hang with a SC'd S2000. I don't have dyno numbers yet nor will I post anything until I put my standalone ECU in. Look for the first or second week in March for some scanned dyno sheets. But I will make this prediction... If I can't put down at the very least 375 rwhp on the Mustang dyno I will be very surprised. But rnough about me... good luck with the install this weekend. YS is a valuable resourse with regard to his technical knowledge especially since you're installing the same setup as him. And one last thing on the clutch replacement issue... I had a brand new stock clutch installed 575 miles before I installed my turbo and it was slipping on hard 1-2 shifts the day I started running the turbo. If I may be so bold as to suggest this: If you are purchasing the new clutch anyways, why not save the stock clutch you have from being burned up so you have a functional replacement if you want to a) go back to stock or b) your new one fails and you need a reliable replacement until you can get another. Just my thoughts though.

Another thing to think about when you install the new clutch is that it will have to be broken in. I think I would go crazy if I installed an SC and a new clutch at the same time, since I would have to be really easy on the clutch for the 1st 500 miles.

Agreed! It's important to break it in carefully. When you're driving on the road just keep shifting 4-5-6-5-4-5-6 etc... you'll have it broken in before you know it.

This is great information and a lot of great tips. The big day is tomorrow and I have to work....But the project will be happening right across the street, and I will be there to "supervise" on Sunday. All my little things I needed showed up, it's finally going to happen. Then, next week off to the dyno to VAFC tune it. In fact I really like the one that the guy installs the APEXi unit right in the radio doors, harness and all. This unit is showing up in the marketplace forums. It is a super clean install, is that APEXi that he sells for $310 a decent unit? All of a VAFC I will need? Help! Phil

OK. Perhaps the single isn't as noisy. Mine is still nice and quiet.
