Default Exhaust opinions

I'm debating which exhaust system upgrade to pursue on my S2. I already know about the limited (if any) power increase so I'm looking for emphasis on craftmanship quality, fit, weight, and sound. Also any problems that were experienced or anyoing features. This is a list of possible systems:
Mugen
Spoon N1
HKS Hiper
Backyard Special Magnum Street
Amuse R1
Any feedback on these or any others would be appreciated

there are way too many posts on these, you may want to do a search.

also, http://www.importdevelopment.net/items-det...etail.php?ID=71 if you don't mind loud exhausts

you're forgetting Neuspeed, J's, VeilSide, MG, SuperSprint, Borla, and a whole slew of exhausts out there.

As far as fit and finish, my HKS was absolutely perfect in every way. I installed it in less than an hour on jackstands. Everything lined up and went into place easily, I posted a thread with info and install pix somewhere, if you do a search for hks install pix, you'll prolly find it.

I am gonna go with Spoon on this one. No one can beat them if your goal is for a pure racing mode! If you want a sporty car that sounds great, go with mugen, but I like speed along with sound, and going single is the way...

j's exhaust rooooockkkss...
can't very well listen to your music but hey nothing beats that f1 howl....

In fact something most peculiar happened the other day. I was on a 4-lane headed out of town... to some of my favorite twisties and I passed an older couple driving a fairly new GMC envoy. I went past them at WOT not to be annoying but the twisties were beckoning me. I pulled up to the last stop light before hitting unadulterated pavement the guy pulls up next to me and rolls down his window (and i was expecting a scolding for the noise... couple approx 80 yrs old) Instead i get an emphatic thumbs up and some comment about my exhaust that sounds like an f1 car mumbled before the light turns green.....

My apologies for posting a repetitious thread...I figured I would keep it simple since this is my first post and also I've been debating on what exhaust to get for my car since April of 2001. I have just recently started considering the single outlet vs the dual. Is the single outlet proven to provide more power? If yes...is it based on throttle response, dyno, or butt dyno?
