Default F20 rebuild questions.

Hey guys i havent posted much on the site but im about to dig into my f20 before summer but i need some information. Im looking at putting the full race gt30 turbo kit on my car but unfortunately wont have money this winter. regardless the engine needs to be rebuilt. So im curious what i should do. i can built the motor with a strong bottom end maintain the same compression and next year when i turbo the car i can use a head spacer. Or i build the motor with low compression pistons and have a slow ass car this year.
What is a better option? or are both good? im expecting to have a couple people flame me for this post but this is my first turbo build so i have to ask. what do you guys think.

Is there any chance you could reuse your current pistons and just put rings on? Or better yet leave them alone? I say that because if you install the low compression pistons now, you will be down on power for one, and you will have to have it tuned to run properly if you get there at all and theres a good chance you wont pass emissions (i live in california no idea what emissions are in canada).

you were pretty vague on the current condition of the motor but if it were me and the top end was intact and the bottom end doesnt need machining. pistons, rings, rods etc. I would have the head work done and put bearings in it and save my money for the turbo build.

The bottom end isn't in great shape. The number three cylinder has scored walls and I'm getting blow by from one or more of the cylinders. The bottom end is getting pistons, rods, bearings and rings. Ive seen high horsepower s2k s with the head spacer though. I like that option cause I can do half now and half next year... just not sure how strong it will be with the spacer.

Emissions are not an issue

i can tell you this. I have a low compression motor in my s2k right now with NO boost. I HATE IT. it was the only motor i could get my hands on at the moment. its sleeved with cp pistons. i think its around 9 to 1. the car has a great amount of power loss, but it gets me back and forth. Im finally got my hands on another motor and now building it to stock OE specs. ive been running low comp with a stock ecu for awhile and no issues. My buddy said I could even run 87 octane LOL

That low comp motor will get pulled out tho, because im not going to boost my car. hope this helps.

FYI i would try to find another f20 bottom end and build it, then slap your old head on it
