Default Factory Alarm Brain

Does anyone know where the factory alarm brain is located? I am planning on adding an aftermarket alarm and need a negative lead to tap into the existing alarm brain. I know I could use the door sensor, but I want to know where the brain is anyway. I have one other question too which is more of an opinion...should I set the alarm up so when someone comes within let's say 2 feet of the car, the horn sounds? My car is going to be parked on a college campus, Villanova University which is a small and relatively safe campus. My only concern is someone may find that feature annoying and decide to throw something at the car (or something of the sort) out of anger. What are your thoughts?

Well what I meant was because of the motion sensors and the horn honking once an individual would get angry and decided to kick the door or knock off the mirror. Maybe i'm being paranoid...
