Final Gear
With a 4.78, you would not be able to hit the top speed of an AP1, which is about 153, give or take a couple (actual) due to drag, or 165mph (theoretical, redline limited).
With a 4.78, your redline-limited top speed would just over 140.
If you want maximum speed, you need more power and either stock or taller gearing. I know mine will hit the full 165, and probably 175+ if I had a taller final drive, but I have no desire to do that because I don't have a death wish. The S2000 is simply not stable enough to go that fast. It's an awesome car, sure, but I know its limits.
Still, I'm not understanding why you want to go that fast on public roads...the car is not safe at that speed. Traffic or no, it's jailtime if you're caught. It's basically the pursuit of a Darwin Award as far as I'm concerned.

Without boost there isn't a track in North American he'll get much past 110mph. This all strikes me as a kid screwing around.
