Way to go doing your own work. I would be a little cautious about your oil pan gasket and start looking into having that potential leak fixed.

I see Mobil 1 on your shelf. It's good oil and all but I suggest you check your oil level regularly, these cars (mostly AP1s but AP2s as well) are known to drink Mobil 1 for some reason. Especially since your pan was pulled (indicating something may have been wrong or tampered with at some point) in the car's life.

If you notice it i drinking the oil a little more than you would like, some good recommendations on oils for these cars are Amsoil, Castrol edge syntec (gold bottle), and some others (personally I love pennzoil platinum but I'm trying out castrol edge syntec this time, it's in my car now so we'll see).

Just a friendly note to be cautious

X2 on the castrol edge. Run it on my s2k (62k miles) . And my rsx-s (130k miles). It does burn a little in my rsx. After about 2k miles I was down just under a qt

Thanks for the compliment ! It's a 06. I was a little hesitant about black at first, but I think it's growing on me. Eventually I want to get a silverstone, but this one should be good to learn a bit on. I got 4 new Potenza Pole Position tires when I bought the car. I don't know much about tires, but they seem pretty grippy.

Good to know it's a potential leak. I'll keep a close eye on it. I wonder why they pulled the oil pan.... seems a bit suspicious.

Yeah, I've been really anal about checking the oil because I was thinking maybe I'm burning... but I haven't been able to notice any lost oil yet. Once I get most of the basic stuff out of the way, I'll switch to something else I think... I just want to get a baseline for how well the car runs first to see if I can notice any difference.

Last night I managed to change the transmission fluid. The bolts were hard to get off cause I was really paranoid about stripping them.

Success! My girlfriend bought the pump from a makeup store.. I would not recommend it, hopefully this stuff doesn't cause cancer

Next up is the diff fluid, any recommendations for brands?

Congratulations, you are probably the first person to change your transmission fluid with a fluid pump sold at a makeup store

It's all apparently the same sh** though lol

Your 2006 is burning oil?

How did the makeup pumps work out?

For the differential I personally use Amsoil Severe Gear 75-90, 75-110 is also popular for people that track and race their car.

Since i use amsoil, they also offer a pump for their bottles. makes the diff and trans fluid change very easy.
