Default First post...go easy on me

I'm looking into the possibility of putting the drivetrain into another vehicle. What all would be required to do this? Are there any security features that would need to be bypassed so it would start? I'm looking to also mod this engine to give roughly 400rwhp w/ the help of a turbo. But I'll try to find info on that through another post. Main reason to use this engine is because there is already a 6spd manual transmission hooked to it Not to mention the smaller size and lighter weight which will be a great help in the final product I hope to build. Thanks alot guys....

I think it'd be easier to make yourself fit in an s2000 than put an s2000 motor into another car. None of the other hondas will take it, and the next easiest swap would be a kit car, as swapping a drivetrain from a different manufacturer car is not something I'd like to try again.

Maybe do a search for "MC Ultralite" or something like that. I know there were some guys that took S2000 engines and put them into kit cars, so they should know what's required. There's another guy that has put the engine into some sort of vehicle that is used only for "top speed" runs. I think he has hit speeds over 200mph with it so far. If you run an aftermarket ECU (which will be needed to deal with the turbo) there aren't any security features that you'll have to bypass.

I hope you have cash out the yang, because this is not going to be an easy or cheap project.

Have you tried sitting in one? 6'4" isn't a problem. Your girth might be, but you could change the seat.

Well, I'm looking at spending roughly 15,000 on the chassis/suspension. The body is going to run me around 5,000 to get the molds+parts made. Now, when I priced out taking a Pontiac Quad 4, which is a DOHC setup w/180hp stock which would run me around 3,000 used w/under 50,000 miles. Then figure in 1500-2000 in a rebuild. Then I'm adding about 4,000 for the complete turbo setup w/intercooler. When I was pricing out a buildup with a smallblock V8, it would have cost upwards of 10,000 to get the engine/wiring/ecu/transmission. I was looking at engines with less than 20,000 miles on them. I would hope that for 7,000 I could get everything used with low milage. Since I've ready where a new engine from honda is around 8,000

Wow, Demon_Offroad, this sounds like a cool project. What would you be doing with the vehicle once it's actually built?
