Fixed Misfire...Now Another Problem
Hey first off thanks to everyone on this forum because i have gotten alot of my information here. With reading all of your post i finally got rid of my misfire CEL that ive been dealing with for 2 years. Now ive come across a dead end with another problem where my car feels like its lost power again somewhere but this time i cant pinpoint it.
My S is a 2005 and got 140,000 miles on it right now. Only upgrades to the car are the K&N FIPK intake and now a Berk HFC. Everything else is completely stock.
First ill explain my misfire problem and how i ended up fixing it.
This is within the course of about 2 years. At the time my car had about 100,000 miles when it started. My CEL came on and gave me a misfire in cylinder 1 code. I jumped onto the forum and with reading all of your post the first thing i did was change my spark plugs to the NGK Platinums. That did nothing. Then i decided to switch my coil packs around to see if the code would jump to another cylinder. I reset the ECU and the next day the CEL came back on again. Took it to autozone to get scanned and now i had misfire codes for cylinders 1, 2, 3, and Radom Misfires. From that point i bought all new coil packs and installed them, reset the ECU, the car drove a little better better but the CEL eventually came back on. Now at this point my CEL comes on for a long period of time..but it also goes off. So its off and on, But on longer.
I brought the car to Honda to have them diagnose what was wrong with it immediately they told me i needed a valve adjustment so i said ok and they did the valve adjustment. 300$ later my CEL comes back on with the same codes, misfires. I brought the car back to Honda and again they immediately say i may have a bent valve, and may need to take the head out get the valves checked machined and all the works. For $2000 i said ya right. This was the second time they look at my car and told me whats wrong without doing any tests on it. So knowing the CEL is coming on and off and there arent any funny noises I said the hell with them and left. But thats not even the bad part. For the hell of it one day i decided to do a compression test to see if i really could have a bent valve..and what do you know i lift off the cover for the coil packs and there is one bouncing up and down because the idiots at Honda stripped the bolt that holds it in place. The compression checked out with readings around 240 on all Cylinders. I replaced the bolt but that didnt help the misfires.
Moving on i try the MAP whack..when doing so i realized Honda had actually done something right and hooked me up with the TSB fix zip tieing it down. I cleaned the IAC. None of the above was helpful to my misfire problem.
I then started playing with the fuel system. One day i put fuel injector cleaner in and within about 50 miles the CEL went off. It stayed off for a few days then eventually it came back on. There is my problem i knew it had something to do with the fuel system. I then ordered 4 new fuel injectors and both fuel pump filters, all OEM. I installed the new fuel pump filters first since i didnt have the rear tray installed and was a 20 minute job. CEL didn't go away but i noticed the car a bit more responsive. A few days later i got around to installing the fuel injectors. i started up the car which it barely did and barely stayed started. I now got a blinking CEL and started to **** myself thinking i messed up something bad. I left the car running to comeback in my house and onto the forum. When i walked back outside i could hear it purring. Took it for a ride and i could notice a huge difference. The CEL finaly went off and stayed off. NO MORE MISFIRE. At this time my car has 140,000 miles on it
A few days later my CEL comes back on but this time its and oxygen sensor code for high voltage, and fuel system stuck on Rich. The car at this point is running like crap again. Easy enough i replace the oxygen sensor with a new OEM one to find out the inside of my Catalytic Converter is falling apart. I threw the new 02 sensor in because my old one was not a sensor anymore it was more like a piece of threads with a wire for a tip. The car was now driving better but still had a little bit of lag and noisy because of the bad cat.
I ordered a new HFC from BERK and installed it the day it came in. WOW the car was back to life. I had finally after all this time got it running like new again. So I think my problem is done and decide to put in a new serpentine belt since i had replaced pretty much everything else. I install a new Goodyear Gatorback belt and right when i drive the car i feel another problem. The car feels week again. Weak and kinda loud.
Now im stuck and this is the problem im having. When i give the car hard acceleration in any gear there is hesitation. Especially in 6th gear it has to be the worst. i can be in 6th around 4,000rpm Then give it WOT and the car is very sluggish. i seem to have more power in lower gears but with a hesitation at first. My vtec does engage around the 6000s. There is no CEL that comes on.
i also notice i have an exhaust leak right where the new BERK HFC and the stock exhaust meet. I bolted them together with the provided Berk gasket and without and still get a leak there. the way i noticed it was water drips out from there and i can hear it whistling when i drive.
So today i changed my Differential fluid, transmission fluid, engine oil, and bleed the clutch and the car still feels laggy. My engine coolant is low but i plan on changing that tomorrow, and it doesnt overheat if anyone was going to ask. So it would be very helpful if any of you cant point me in the next direction to figure out where this power lag is coming from.
Sorry for the long description but i figured it would help you help me figure out whats wrong a little easier. I do have a OBDII Scanner that reads live data so any help is appreciated thanks.

My ECT reading earlier was around 200-203F but my IAT Reading was up to 145F, just idling. That was after I drove around the block when I finished my fluid changes. I'm guessing that reading is a little high since it's only about 45F where I live.

I have no clue Ive had the car for 6 years and I haven't changed the coolant yet which is probably bad...but my car has never overheated...my heat works fine..nothing abnormal in my oil..no white smoke from exhaust...I do smell exhaust when I get on the gas but I'm not sure if that's because of the new HFC I just installed.
You did a comp test so that should rule out a blown hg. Just kinda of curious about the missing coolant. Just don't let it get so low that your res goes empty because you'll get air in the system.
Sounds to me most like a vac leak. Is there a chance that you knocked a hose loose while changing the belt?

I have the coolant to change it I just have to get around to doing it. The coolant is at almost the bottom of the res. But everything was good until I changed the belt. And none of the hoses are disconnected I have no leaks anywhere. As for a vacuum leak I do hear noise when I'm driving close to a wall..where would I start to look for a vacuum leak. I also had the misfire because of my fuel injectors for a while.. Is there anything else that could have messed up because of that besides the cat, coils, plugs, 02 sensor.
