Default Front Brake Pad Replacement

I'm going to replace my front brake pads once they come in from HTG and will follow the DIY in the sticky. I wanted to know if anyone had pics to accompany the DIY? It'll be my first try at this and wanted to have as much visual help as possible.

Thanks!

I would show you the pictures, but I'm a berlina and dont care for yellow =p! j.k. I'd show you the pics if I had taken them even tho you drive a spa =/.lol It's really easy. Just follow the diy and make sure you're very carefull when you depress the piston back into the caliper so you dont break the seal. Take off the cover on the brake master cylinder too..

That depends on how worn your rotors are. People resurface a rotor because it's either warped or because it has been in use for so long that the old pad has cut a groove into the rotor, this can cause issues when trying to bed in new pads.

If your rotors are not warped and if they are in good shape (very little wear) then just throw some new pads on there and call it a day. Resurfacing a rotor removes material from it, this essentially makes it less effective (less rotor material means less surface area of heat absorption/dissipation). I wouldn't resurface them unless you have to and if you have to, I'd start seriously thinking about just buying a set of new front rotors. The cost is minimal and brakes aren't something you want to skimp on.

make sure you have a impact driver, the phillip counter sunk screw ain't gonna come out with a screw driver.

Just did this today for the fronts only and didn't need pictures. The DIY was very clear and helpful. The hardest part was loosening the lower bolt that holds the caliper in place. Plenty of WD-40 and muscle took care of that. The whole thing for one side from wheels off to wheels on probably took me 20 minutes, if that.
