Default front strut tower brace?

I am wondering what the general opinion is on the front strut tower braces. Do they increase the handling any? Which one is the most recommended and looks the best? Cheapest place to buy them?

Often useful on strut equipped cars. Generally not useful for double wishbone cars (like ours.) Save your money for the x-brace of your choice.

Yeah! Looks good the Cusco one I think!
And yes, you can feel the difference at high speeds...
slightly understeer...

The S2000 chassis is already so stiff that something like the strut tower brace does very little (if anything) for our cars. An xbrace would make significant changes though, would make it handle even better. But once again, Honda did a great job on our car's handling.

they will make a little difference, better to go with a larger stabalizer bar and or a lower cross brace.

IMO it does make a difference. Testing without the x-brace installed it is obvious to me that it reduces shake and stabilizes steering a bit on rough surfaces. I could tell no difference on smooth surfaces.

Do not confuse the braces, which are structural supports with the sway bar, which is an active suspension component. They modify the car differently, and at least on this car the braces result in subtle handling changes where the sway bars can make a major change.

For all those that

i wasn't saying that the tower brace makes no difference. I have one and I did notice a subtle difference and better handling..I was simply saying that you will get more bang for the buck, in my opinion with a larger stab bar and x brace. I would still recommend a tower brace, but there won't be a huge amount of improvement.

I agree with cdelena.
Installed Mingster's X-Brace and felt a difference (good).
Installed a Comptech upper STB and felt a difference (good).
Surprised at the number of posts that report no impact from a upper STB; maybe they are looking for chassis stiffening vs. improvements in handling? IMHO, two different things.
