Default Fuel Cap Code and Gas smell after Koni Install

Hello.
Help!!

I've installed and removed shocks multiple times, but after installing my Konis a while back, I get:
1) "Fuel Cap" code on Odometer screen
2) Slight gas smell.

I replaced the Gas cap with OEM from Honda, reset the code and it came back. Still smell gas too,

No gas leak obvious from anywhere, including all around the Gas fill neck that I moved out of the way when installing the Konis.

I have not removed the rubber cover that covers the rubber tubes connecting to the fuel tank yet.

I'm thinking maybe the seal of the metal part of the fuel neck was misshapen during movement.

What do y'all think?

Thanks!!!

Check the release cable from the fuelcap door?

There is usually no need to move the gas neck for a shock install ( pita! ) so IF you moved this part, there is a chance that it's not properly sealing right now.

Yeah one of the vent hoses must be loose on the fuel fill pipe, too much of a coincidence. Make sure all of the clamps and hoses are tight on the pipe, if I recall there is one screw clamp, if you moved it during the installation it might not be tight enough.

Thanks Y'all!

I actually just threw a code for Evap leak. I don't have the service manual so I am a little weary to mess with everything.

I'll post my results when fixed

It was the fuel neck move I did when installing my Koni's. I got a little to rough with and disconnected a connector inside the rubber boot cover. All fixed now.

I removed that rubber boot cover to make shock adjustment easier.
