Default Fuel Cut

Hi everyone,

Got a slight issue with my s2000, its a 2003 and covered about 32k, Decided to give it a bit and hit what was like fuel cut on the car, About 7-8 it was like someone slammed the brakes on for a slit second. Going to have a look at the fuel pump this weekend to check if the sock is blocked if not guess its the fuel pump on the way out. Just wondering if this is a common problem or if its something else..?

Also im doing a mini service on the car next week, just going to change the plugs, oil filter, fuel filter and front pads but wondering if theres anything else that needs cleaning / checking while im there,

Thanks

Craig

Dont replace the fuel filter unless you are sure that your fuel pressure is low. Its not a conventional filter like every other car. Its made to last a lifetime. Instead, change your dif fluid, trans fluid, and any other fluid that looks dirty (clutch, brake, coolant). Dont be intimidated by these items, they are very easy. Also, dont forget to replace the crush washer on all the plugs you take out! Go to Honda for any brake (clutch) fluid, coolant, Manual Transmission Fluid, oil filter, and crusher washers. It wouldnt hurt to replace the plugs you take out either.

Sounds like the usual fuel cut action. If you hit the fuel cutoff it will slow you down a good bit for that fration of a second. Any CELs or other issues? Any significant changes recently?

Nope nothing, The car is completely standard, nothing on the dash to indicate a problem, will drop the oil and do the plugs and see if I can make it do it again.

My buddy's 05 had a problem like that. His fuel sock was clogged and some regulator was broken in the tank. It wouldn't start happening until he was below 1/4 of a tank.

When he would hit vtec or anything that rocked the tank or pushed fuel away from the pump, it would just basically fuel cut and slam your head into the dash.
