Arrow Fuel draining

Hey,

I have a s2k which has been stood in the garage with just under 1 8th of a tank of petrol, when attempting to start this it was't happy, its constantly misfires

Will it be worth my while filling the car up with fresh petrol and trying run it until the fresh petrol reaches the engine, or is there a easy method of draining the petrol?

or bleeding the system through?

the engine will run but it is obviously misfiring, please help!!!!

The other option is to take it to the main dealer which has just ripped me off as it is!!

Any help would be much appreciated

How long did the car sit? How long did it sit without running?

How do you know it's misfiring? Are you getting a CEL or MIL?

hey, it has been stood for 18months, i bought this car then had it transported home as i did not want to start the engine until the oil has been changed, I have quiclkly tried turning it over to see what the outcome was,

I was considering filling the tank with petrol to dilute and clear the old petrol out,
before doing this i wanted to check the best plan of action.

Sorry i don't quite know what you mean Cel or Mil?

the engine is turning over but rocking the car at low revs, once you increase the revs to approx 1500rpm the engine feels more steady but is clearly not firing, if you let the revs fall again the engine cuts out.

The car started to smoke at first but now turns over without smoke.

"CEL" = Check engine light.
"MIL" = <alfunction indicator light.

Looks like a little motor and yellow on your display. If that light were on your could hook up a diagnostic unit to help determine what was actually going on.

You could just fill up your tank and let it mix but if that is not the issue you could be in trouble.

Did you buy the car with out test driving it?

Unhappy

yeah stupidly enough, i didn't test drive it!

i trusted with its low milage it would be ok as it has only done 12miles

Honda plugged it in yesterday and the engine management determined it was bad fuel.

i think my best bet is to stop trying short cuts and take it to the main dealer, to drain the system down and get the car running.

what damaged may have been caused? the technician started the engine and advised to add a full tank of fuel to override the stale stuff but after running the car for 5 mins it didn't seam a lot better although it didn't cut out straight away.
i then tried a couple more times then got scared i would break it!

i'm just hoping i haven't bought a duff car!!!

Stupid of me really!
