Default Getting engine off box

So I've disconected every thing that I need to and split the motor from the box. I have nearly a half inch gap the whole way around. It's clearing the dowel pins, but I can't manage to get engine to come off the shaft in the box. I have the box jacked up a bit and started to hoist the motor on the same angle (tried a few different angles) with two guys trying to giggle it free, but we can't get any more than that half inch gap? Any help or ideas would be great!

What?

I'm trying to understand. Are you removing the cylinder head from the block? Are you trying to pull the entire motor?

Sorry mate, engine off the transmission. My tail shaft is siezed onto the diff so I can't get it loose to drop the gearbox underneath so I've been advised to jack the gearbox a little and slide engine off the shaft

Did you remove the clutch fork?

No I haven't, I was unaware of that. How do I get the clutch fork removed?

Unbolt slave.
Remove boot.
Pull out/disengage fork by hand. It will pull out about 2 inches or so, but not completely out.

Trans will surely come right out then.
