Default Getting rid of code P420 with test pipe

Problem: when anyone puts a test pipe in, you'll get code P420 for cat converter inefficiency (as you would expect, the cat is gone)

Most of us know we can use a spark plug spacer on the rear o2, on 2000 to 2005 cars to fool the CEL and keep the light off.

Has anyone been able to fool the ecu on a 2006-2009 s2k? Or is there an electronic simulator that can be purchased?

Not everyday I look for help here

Let me know anything you have found...

I have tried FOUR spacers, one stuffed with steel wool. It did not work.

My Buddy used 3. He Drilled out the top one completely and used 2 more.

But he also has a High flow cat, so that may not work.

wow I can't believe that many didn't work haha. I wish I could help but I don't have any idea of what else would fix it. I have seen guys that used 2 spacers on their 06 with no CEL, but I know they can be really picky.

I know FlashPro can get rid of it but that is an epensive solution if you didn't want to do any tuning.

I used the berk 70mm TP and some steel wool inside the CEL fix. Works for about 5-9k miles. Then, as 1nate7 stated above, got the flashpro and disengaged the ECU from reading that sensor all together and hasn't come back since.

Flashpro seems to be the viable answer for the '06+ s2k's.

Drive pattern is key to getting the P0420 monitor to run. If you are WOT all the time, the monitor will not complete 2x and you won't get the MIL. I haven't found anything that fools a MY06 and later car effectively, other than a functioning catalyst.

Ziptech made a 02 simulator that worked on a AP1 without having to leave a sensor plugged in. I've got a unobtanium Comptech "02 Terminator" That has been also effective on a AP1.

Never tried the Comptech piece on a MY06

My T1r was the only test pipe to not pull a CEL. I am running a flashpro now but before that every HFC and testpipe for whatever reason would throw a CEL. The 06+ cars are definetely more CEL prone than the earlier models.

I also think the T1r didn't pull a CEL because of the position of the cel fix, its angled more sideways/almost at a downward angle while the others were angled upwards. Not sure if that makes a difference though as it shouldn't in my head but worth mentioning
