Got my Auto Xray 6000 scanner...nice piece!
Just got it the other day, and I have not played with it on the S2000, but I did use it on the Outback, and this is a fine piece of engineering and user friendliness. The batteries reduce the maze of wires on units needing power from the car, and they have long life. The menus are logically grouped, and the buttons logically placed. This thing is actually Made in the USA! I didn't think we made any electronics anymore.
You can of course scan stored data, but the thing can also be used as a real-time device, for the passenger to operate (don't even think of using this while driving - we have enough problems with cell phones, beauty aids, coffee, food, maps, books). The unit can be configured for specific vehicles, even though they all use OBD II if they '97 or later - I believe this will change the avalaible options based on the specific capabilities of the individual mfr's computer modules. That is a pretty sophisticated feature.
If you validate purchase over the Internet, they give you an extra year of warranty, which is a healthy 2 years, so you get 3 all told.
I will baseline readings from the S2000 when the weatjher improves, using a trusted driver to navigate: my wife. She is used to me barking orders about watching out for pebbles and gravel and the like.
The software is CAN capable, which is the next big thing in operating protocols. and minor software updates can be downloaded from the Internet free - major ones will require a nominal fee.
