Default Got Nos?

I am about to hook up a 10 pound bottle of NOS and put out a 50 shot on a stock s2000 engine.... did anybody run NOS on their car? results? Can our engines handle 50 shot? I want to learn more before i go through with it....open for suggestions

It should be able to handle a 100-shot if you have it set up right (ie, wet shot, WOT switch, window switch would help too, if not a full controller to ramp it up).

I've been thinking about getting a 100 shot and getting one of the controllers to start it at WOT at 5000 RPMs or so at 20%, then ramping it up to 7000RPMs to 100% and cutting off at 8500RPMs.

It'll be nice to have that extra 25-30 horses at 5k, so if I start to bog a launch I can go WOT and hopefully not bog it.

If you hook up a 100 shot w/o a progressive controller I would start shopping for a clutch and other drive train items.

Really? I guess that should mean you need some new stuff too. 120hp to the crank, 80hp to the wheels....much less than what you're running. And the power is similar. Only about 20hp (much less) when the NOS comes on. Not gonna hurt anything unless I blow my engine, which is what the window switch and WOT hrottle switch would prevent. In fact, at no point would the NOS be engaged when the clutch isn't completely. I don't recall ever putting the car into wide open throttle at the same time I slip the clutch out slowly. So the only type of shock the engine or drivetrain components go through is probably close the the shock the engines feel when your turbo spools up.

I dyno'ed my car on a 50 shot and the hp was exact 50hp at the wheel.

50 shot is fine as long as you don't run it all the time

Doh! Didn't read it right. I didn't go to bed last night, so please forgive me...:-)

I couldn't think of what it was called, but when I said ramp it up to 100% at 7K, I was talking about a progressive controller.

There's really no reason I can think of to have it spray lower than 5K. When I bog, I usually bog around 5k. Of course, I'd have to play with it. I guess in certain situations I would want it lower than 5K, but thats why the controller is variable at the twist of a knob, right?
