You shouldn't forget to mention a shot is rated on a carburated engine, so with an Engine, the actual HP gained to the crank is generally more than the "shot" would imply. That being the reason on our cars, a 50 shot gets you about 50 HP to the wheels.

What you are asking about is drivetrain loss. It varies somewhat from car to car, but due to many frictional factors and momentum, a certain percentage of hp loss to the wheels occurs. Say the typical S2k dynos in at 205 hp at the wheels...that means that there is about a 15% loss, give or take a little. That percentage is just not cut and dry for predicting drivetrain loss even on your car, as there are too many variences between dynos and even a little difference in your particular car...but its not a bad estimate.
