grey smoke in vtec?

has an apex i N1 but no test pipe that im aware of, i just bought the car a few months back...if rings are going out how much does that usually run at a shop? im a med student so money is hard to come by lol thanks everyone for their input

That's a lot of money...probably at least $2K in labor, plus the parts. And I doubt its rings if you're not burning a lot of oil.

Really, unless you're burning like a ton of oil (1qt/300 miles) I wouldn't tear down a motor and rebuild it.

It could be something as simple as a weak/dribbling injector that is not allowing fuel to burn correctly.

Im going to clean the pcv valve change oil and keep a close record on it and fill u guys in in how much burned if and at 500 miles

Fresh oil change hit vtec a few times no smoke im guessing it was the pcv valve? Or the oil i was using
