Having clutch issues? Check this out
Ok, so to start this out....I've found a few of us have had the same issue.
Clutch feels like it has sand in it and it will not go into gear or has issues.
I was browsing the hell out of google and here with NO resolve. I was always told to check the floor board for fluid to see if the CMC (Clutch Master Cylinder) was leaking, and then check the SMC (Slave Master Cylinder) for grease/the infamous nipple on the end of the ball joint.
Well mine had a slight nipple on the SMC so I sanded it down and buffed it back up to a polish and greased the hell out of it for good measure.
Nothing worked, so another man said check the CMC....there was no fluid at the bottom, or in the cabin on the floor board. So I decided my slave was bad and try that out.
Once putting in a new SMC and bleeding the system, I noticed there was a black plastic piece....I'm guessing some sort of shield guard underneath the driver's side floor board.
Well, after noticing this piece...I seen there was a bit of fluid starting to pool up and drip to the floor. My culprit was the CMC, even though there's no fluid in the car's floorboard nor on the firewall. Some how it is leaking further down or it has found a hidden path that my fingers just couldn't touch to see if it was leaking.
I only mention this to help resolve other people's issues with their clutch feeling super sticky/having issues going into gear. I can say from reading plenty on here, 9 times out of 10....it will be either your CMC or SMC, and I for one recommend if you have to swap out one....do the other just because.
Thanks to the s2k community for leading me in the direction, and I wanted to put my two cents in on a new leaking location that I have not read about on here.
