Default How do you know when your clutch is bad?

On thanksgiving morning, I went inside my car and attempted to start the car. When i stepped on the clutch I noticed that it was shorter than normal. I also noticed that the clutch is not as "hard" as it was but instead very short. I have a 2002 with 41K miles. Can anyone tell me what is wrong and what I need to do. I've already searched clutch related problems but came up empty handed.

Check your seat position. Closer sitting position often makes you feel that way.
