I know there is a very detailed head removal DIY on here somewhere but I can't find it after searching for a couple hours.

Maybe someone has it bookmarked?

If you plan to remove the head, you really need to have a copy of the helms manual. it will help you reinstall it too.

i have the factory honda service manual. is that the same as a helm one? im now not sure if i need to remove the head or not. it may be simpler to change retainers with the head on, and then pull the intake manifold off separately to do my nitrous.

 

If you have compressed air you can change the retainers with the head on. You need to get the right spring removal tool though.

i remember seeing it in the FI section. SPECIAL-OPS-S2K had made one, but i searched his posted for about 10 mins and couldnt find it. You might want to PM him and see if he can give you it.
