Head Stud Torque
So Im rebuilding my engine and Im ready to put the head back on. Simple enough. Problem:
I ordered ARP head studs. The instructions say to torque the studs to 80.
The manual says:
Tighten the cylinder head bolts in sequence to
29 N m (3.0 kgf.m, 22 lbf ft). Use a beam-type
torque wrench. When using a preset-type torque
wrench, be sure to tighten slowly and do not
overtighten. lf a bolt makes any noise while you are
torquing it, Ioosen the bolt and retighten it.
Turn the bolts 3 times (new) at 90 degrees per turn.
So which do i go with????
