Default Head temp question

How hot do you think the head of the F20 gets during high stress application? A few hundred degrees? Say near the intake or exhaust ports.

thanks,

Well, the intake ports will be somewhat cooler than the exhaust. Really depends on how coolant flow is routed. 200-300F on the intake and 300-400F on the exhaust (in the port) is probably not unreasonable. But, I really don't know for sure, you'd have to instrument it to be certain.

Why do you ask? Trying to add something to the head, maybe made of composites, or plastic?
