OK - finally got around to installing my Mugen header. I have removed the OEM header and I'm stuck ... I can't get the Mugen header in from under the car? I have read several posts that indicate using the OEM jack to jack the engine - can someone please give me a detailed description of how and were to jack the engine and any other helpful tips so I can get this thing installed ... I've just spend 2 hours of my life that I'll never get back trying to get this thing in place - please help.

I know it can be done, I'm just missing something.

Get the car as high on the jack stands as possible.

Put the car jack between the front right of the engine and the body where it can fit as forward as possible. The jack will push the engine to the left and give you enough room to put the header in from below. I had to do this with my car and twohoos did as well.

Thanks - how far do I jack the engine ... can I move it too far? Should I be care not to force it too much?

 

I put mine in last weekend. I jacked the engine a bit, and removed the engine mount near the header (supporting the engine with the jack). The header went right in. Then replaced the engine mount. Its only about 6 bolts and was very easy.

Well .... It was all (the time spent installing and all the assoc. frustration) worth it. I tried the "jacking" of the engine and it just didn't seem to work for me, so I supported the engine with another jack and removed the engine mount - this was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be, but it made the install very easy - I would recommend this method for anyone that is planning on installing a header.

Took the car out for a quick spin and love the difference the header made. I have had the mugan exhaust for about a year and now with the header installed, it makes (IMO) a very noticeable difference in how the car drives, sounds and accelerates.

Everyone was tell me at first ... Don't get the mugan header, keep the stock one it's just as good ... You already have the mugan exhaust - don't waste your $$ on the header. Well, I have to TOTALLY disagree. It was worth it to me and I would recommend it to anyone that would care to ask.

Good going! Sounds like mount removal with supporting engine is the way to go.

 

I love the Mugen header, the mid range improvement is well pronounced...the only thing I dont like is the louder engine sound, it seems to be a tinnier sound coming from the header while the car is rollin'
