12mm socket should take the HS off. It might be seized on though cuz of the high heat

Just like SOHC say....use the 12mm socket for the heatshield. You may want to spray some wd-40 on it to make thing more easy. As for the header....you can take it off from the top or from the bottom. I prefered the bottom since you may scratch the valve cover if taking it off from the top if you are not careful.

Once you finish taking the 2 bolts from the cat and the bolts from the header you could easily taking the header out and just let it rest on the frame. Then crawl underneath the car and start wiggle it a little bit and it should drop straight down. Don't for get to disconnect the o2 sensor first.

Do the same with the Megan header.....from the bottom up.

Just to make sure...you talking about the silver heatsheild that is attached to the oem header or the black heatsheid that protects the battery + fusebox? The black one has a trick...their is one hidden bolt close to the firewall...it does not have to be removed, just loosened. The black heatsheild has a slot for that last bolt and it slides in...one the bolt is loose, you can pull the heatsheild up & out.

Oh yeah, i forgot about the black heatshield. There are four of them but just like negcamber say...you just take 3 out and the last one(all the way near to the fire-wall) you can just loosing it. It's a 8mm
