Default headlight's bulb going bad or ballast?

i notice when i turn on my headlights, the driver side seems to start up quicker and the passenger seems to be a little slower and appear to be more yellow (halogen-like) as it starts up

what could this be? bulb needs replacement? or ballast? (i hope its not the ballast)

ill try to take a vid of it a post it up later

Two things:

1. One of the bulbs were previously replaced and now one is obviously newer than the other.

2. The bulb is about to kick the bucket.

When replacing HID capsules, try to replace both at the same time. As the capsules age in usage, they lose lumens and shift in color.

I lost a ballast on my '05... Mine would sometimes come on and other times not...Tap on the head light sometimes would kick it on... Then nothing... swapped the ballast from the other side and it followed the ballast...

Got one on order...ouch they ain't cheap....

Fwiw, I'd just buy an aftermarket kit rather than OEM - you can get HIDs with ballasts for $50 anymore. DDM Tuning seems reputable.
