take the fuel pump fuse out, run car until it stops.

that would be my uneducated guess, don't do it until others confirm if this works with the s2k, i've done it with other vehicles.

With a large wrench and a rag loosen the fuel pulsation dampner to release the pressure.

the proper way by the manual is to loosen the fuel pulsation dampener, but then you have to replace the two crush washers under it once it is loosened. The crush washers were on back order when I did it and I had to wait a week or so for the washers to arrive. Then you need a 22mm open end wrench socket tool to torque the dampener to 16 ft lbs (I didn't have one to fit my torque wrench so I did it by feel). If you try to re-use the crush washers they will leak- I tried it.

I would leave the car overnight to drop the pressure in the lines, if you can't then pull the fuel pump fuse while the car is running and allow the engine to stall. Open the fuel filler cap briefly to release pressure in the tank. I would then remove the fuel pressure regulator (with rags around it). By removing the regulator rather than the dampener you have no crush washers to replace and the regulator can be torqued to 8.7 ft lbs spec very easily with its 10mm bolts. Your going to get fuel to leak out regardless of what method you use so have plenty of rags around, in a well ventilated area. If you are going to have the parts opened up for a few hours or more, I like to wrap them in garbage bags and sandwich bags zip tied or elastic tied to reduce the fumes from the fuel in such things like the fuel rail, fuel regulator, injectors, etc....

The washers generally can be used over. Just check for fuel leak. I have gotten at least 10 uses out of that washer before replacing.
