Default Help! Check engine light won't go off...

The other day I did and oil change just as usual and I always unplug this one connector to get to the oil filter easier. It's on the side of the head as pictured below:

Well, I forgot to plug it in again before my test drive and noticed the check engine light come on about 1/4 mile down the road. I immediately knew what I had forgotten and plugged the connector back in. The check engine light would not go off. I've taken about 5 trips since then and it's still being stubborn. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get it to go off?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Steve, do a quick search on resetting the ecu - it involves pulling a fuse for ten seconds...

From the library...

https://www.s2ki.com/article/articleview/5/1/15/

Put the key in and turn to on and then turn to off, leave the key in.
Locate the fusebox - its above your left foot if you are sitting in your S2000.
Locate the fuse - right side of panel, 2nd fuse from top (3rd slot from top). It's the 7.5A fuse that's right between a 15A and a 7.5A. Its marked "Back Up".
Locate fuse pulling tool - its stored about 4 inches to the left nestled in a group of relays.
Pull out the fuse with the removal tool (if necessary), count to ten and stick it back in (key off).
After removal wait for 10-15 seconds.
Put the fuse back the right way, not upside down otherwise it will not work.
Turn the key and start the engine and that should take care of the check engine light and resetting of the ecu.
If you reset the engine light and it returns, then there can be something wrong with your car. Resetting the light, as described above, is a troubleshooting tip to see if it is merely a glitch in the ECU or perhaps some modification that tripped it off and needs to be reset.

What i did when i got my check engine light was just disconnect my negitive terminal on my battery. This worked perfectly. You may want to try this.

Disconnecting the battery resets EVERYTHING. If you want to reset the ECU, pull fuse #25 for 30 seconds. This will clear the ECU ONLY.

Apparently, the library (per PFB's directions) has some "extra" steps. The only thing you need to do is pull fuse #25 while the car is turned off. I do this about once per week to clear any negative learning that the ECU might have done.
