help diagnose a sound
Sup guys, so i had a sound i was pretty sure was the timing tensioner. So i got it changed but its still there. It is a constant ticking but ONLY when revving the motor or cruising and accelarating. To me the idle sounds perfect nothing really out of the ordinary. If i have the windows up and radio off its very audible. It sounds loudest from behind the gauge cluster area. So im thinking it could be injectors, but could injecotrs possbily be that loud? Its basically a fast constant ticking clicking almost fluttering sound. I was pretty sure it was the timing chain tensioner but its not so im stumped. Could it be valves or injectors.

Well this motor in the car was recently replaced by honda. It was owned by my friend before. I had like a score on the piston ring? something like that, but anyway it was burning oil. SO honda changed the bottom end i think but then it was still burning oil so they changed thed head also, or it could be the other way around, as in changed the head then block. The car itself has 45k miles but id say this motor has about 5k. Im pretty sure my friend drove it hardeven when the new motor got put in. Could it be valves already? I just noticed tonight that my engine does sound more ticky than my friends 02.
