Help with inconsistent engine performance

170F is not uncommon because of where the sensor is located. You can employ what I did and cut off the plug and splice in two longer wires to effectively lengthen the factory harness, then re locate that sensor to where ever you want. It doesn't even have to be in the intake, but just in a location that gets cooler air. The most common thing is to buy a DBW intake and re locate it in the factory provision there, with a little creativity on the adapter or buy a DBW sensor I suppose. The easiest thing to do is acquire another IAT sensor and just leave it in the manifold as a plug for that end. The car pulls a lot of ignition timing when that IAT sensor gets that hot. So re location will definitely improve performance overall, especially in the summer.

The STFT goes 0 at WOT because the car switches from closed loop to open loop. Its actually closer to 35-50% throttle when the switch over happens. So yes that's normal.

Thanks as well. I suppose measuring intake air temperature where the air enters the engine makes sense.
