Hey guys,

Im new to the s2000 world and also to this forum so excuse my ignorance if i were to ask something stupid. So on to the problem ( 01 spa with 57K )
Ive had my car for about 6 months now and never had a problem with it, Just starting this week as i was driving i notice that my Head unit flickers off an on. Didnt think it was a problem becasue i thought it was a bump that caused it, but as of friday it happened more often maybe like every 5 mins while i am driving. Only the head unit flickers off and on the car is in perfect running condition. While this is happening I have notice that everytime i used my window the dash also flickers and the EPS lights flickers along with the dash. Once again the car is running when all of this is going on, this does not affect the car from what i can tell. So i drove the car home, and on sat morning i took the car to go buy some groceries the car ran perfect no problems at all. Later on that day while i was driving it started again all the symptoms as before so i turn around right away and took it back to the house. When i turned the key to off position ive notice there was no beeping sounds. But i was in a rush so i left right away and didnt really look at anything. On sunday morning when i came out, the car did not start along with no dash lights or dome lights. So i took the battery out and went to get it tested, the battery came out good so im thinking its the alternator ?? What do you guys think ?

 

make sure the bolt on the back of the head to the ground is tight.

 

I'm having the same problem with mine, I haven't figured it out yet. mine still runs perfectly fine though and along with the eps light coming on when the widow gets all the way up or down, maybe 1 out of every 10 tens I turn my high beams on the head unit turns off and back on. whoever had the car before me put a aftermarket cd player in it do I'm guessing the problem is with that I just haven't had time to check into it.

AlBlack - Yea that sounds like my problem, i also have an aftermarket head unit. But mine does it on its own you dont need to use the window for the head unit to flicker. Does your car have any staring problem becasue my car does not start at all now ??

 

my head unit goes off and back on by itself, but I figured out that when I turn my highs on it does it too, my cluster lights dot go flicker all the way off they pulsate, but no I don't have any starting issues.
