Default Help with Noise

Okay, my car has barely 450 miles on the clock, however I have been hearing a clunking sound when I engage the gears and release the clutch slowly. It tends to do this only when engaging 1st gear and I dont hear it or feel it on the rest of the gears. Can someone bring me up to speed with this car? Is this a normal sound or do I have to be concern and take it to the dealer?

Thanks

the car is too new. bring it to the dealer and have them let you drive a new s2000 to see if it does the same thing. They will most likely let you because they hate wasting time looking for something that is not broken.

Sounds like something in the body or frame may be loose since it only does it from a near stop. any other gears would give away a drivetrain issue but i still wouldent rule it out.

first things first. make sure its not a normal charastic of the car.

Check the axle nut torque. If fine, then I'd say normal.

Clunking sound when engaging 1st gear only.. try depressing the clutch for a couple seconds before you engage the gear rather than just tossing it in gear immediately. If this doesn't fix the "problem", come back and let me know

double declutch when entering first aftercoming to a stop

example
when roling to a stop down shift normaly but once you stop put into neutral let clutch pedal out then depres clutch pedal again and put into first.

I always double declutch into first and second while engine is cold once warm I just do simple revmatch down shifting like most people

Mine will make a slightly anoying clunk if I try banging through gears while cold, I think its normal, Good luck!!

Okay, I will try the recommendations, however the clunking noise does not occur while the car is rolling or at speed. I mostly notice it when I am at a stop and I engage the 1st gear. BTW I dont bang through the gears. Its not a Daily Driver!!
