Hey everyone,

Problem 1: Every so often, when i start the car, the malfunction indicator lamp comes on.
Performance doesn't seem to change.

Problem 2. Sometimes when I let the car idle, the VSA light (exclamation point) comes on along w/ the malfunction indicator lamp and the car stays revved at 3k rpm. I'm assuming this is some sort of safe mode. If i turn the car off, it'll shake as the engine winds down. When i restart the car, the VSA light goes away, but the malfunction indicator lamp comes on. While this usually happens when I'm idling, it happened for the first time while driving today.

The manual mentions that the malfunction indicator lamp means there's a problem with the emissions system. Is this true? Or is this light the generic "check engine light"? Any help would be much appreciated.

you got to get it scanned, other wise you would just be guessing whats wrong
