I need to replace the weatherstrip (main windshield exterior seal) on my windshield - when I took the black tape off the pilar (which looks SO much better painted...and the paint underneath was PERFECT) I used a heat gun and it melted part of the weatherstrip:

THE PROBLEM: Winshield replacement places all wanna tell me there is a 70-80% chance they will break my windshield replacing the seal! Sounds like a scam to guarantee they profit from a customer even if they don't have to replace the whole windshield! I already have the seal from Honda - it was like $70!

THE QUESTION: Anyone know how to remove the old one and replace the new one (or atleast get the old one off and the windshield out so these thieves don't have to break it rushing through the job on my car (quoted $65) to get to the $900 minivan windshield scheduled after me??

Isn't that insurance FRAUD??? Fraud - willful deceit; trickey. Hmmm sure does!

No, I don't work for an insurance company, and I hate all insurance companies, even my own. They only take your money and when they (insurance co.) have to pay they take their sweet time, but if your late on one payment....your canceled! Trust me insurance companies are a rip-off!

Yes, I'm a personal injury lawyer and deal with insurance companies every day. Haven't found one I didn't have to take to court!

But still wouldn't step to FRAUD!

Buy a Helm Manual....."Windshield Replacement" 20-29. It is straightforward. All you need is a pice of piano wire.

Do you have an order number for that Helm Manual or a direct link to the page describing that manual in specific - it doesn't come up on their serach engine, and when I called Heml's Customer Support they were unable to locate anything by that name or number.

Thanks!
Steve

Steve2K, this should have taken you to the page where you can also click on the "makes" box, then select Honda, then S2000, etc.
Anyhow, the '00 Service Manual is: 61S2A00 $66.00
The '00/'01 Service Manual is: 61S2A01 $67.00

So Utah is talking about a SECTION in the S2000 manual and not a separate manual?
