Help! Soft top removal

Default Help! Soft top removal

hey guys, im in the process of removing my soft and and i got it out sucessfully, however.. im stuck and confused on how to bolt up my hardtop side mounts as part of where this mounts to is on the actual soft top frame. anyone who has done this your input is very appreciated

Just use the two bolt holes that are left. That will hold it just fine and you will not be the first with that configuration.

ok cool thanks for the reply. would it be better if i fabricated some sort of brace or brackets that i could bolt the other 2 mssing holes onto?

If you can, sure why not. But there are a number of HT installed with just the two.

have you ever heard of anyone having tweaked or bent the mouting area? cuz it seems kinda flimsy, being that i can move the mount with my hand horizontaly.

IMO, just using the two that are left is not really strong enough for me to be comfortable with. But that's just an opinion. I had my roll bar fabricator weld up a support.

yea thats why i want to try to think up something that would be more supportive. the only thing i can think of is trying to fabricate some sort of trapezoid shaped metal bracket to bolt the hardtop support to some existing holes in the body.
