Default Help! Trunk Remote wont work

Hello all,

I was wondering if any one has experienced a similar problem and can offer some help. I am having a problem with my trunk remote. When I try to pop the trunk with the remote it doesn't work, I can hear the actuator clicking but it doesn't open the trunk. I can open the trunk with the key and the remote unlocks the doors fine. Weird....

Any and all help is appreciated.

could it be the trunk springs? If there's no tension it might not "Pop"

Adjust the trunk rubber stoppers out so it puts a bit more force on the release. May even need to adjust the latch lower. Did you add a wing or something?

Maybe the bike rack is too heavy? j/k

I'd check the spring like said above. Just open it with the key, remove the key then lift the trunk and lower it to feel the resistance.

I added an OEM AP1 Wing but that was at least four years ago and I haven't had problems with it until now.

No there is no bike rack (haha)

I also wanted to mention when I hit the truck release button in the center console storage, it also doesn't open the trunk, so the spring tension/rubber stopper height could definatley be the potential cause.

Does anyone know how I can adjust the trunk spring? The rubber stoppers I assume I can just twist to the desired height. Thanks for all the help everyone. I will post up the results.

open the trunk with the key. Manually set the latch with a screwdriver or something. Then hit the button and see if it pops the latch. If it does then mess around with the rubber stops. If not then something needs to repaired/replaced.

When the trunk is closed, I hit the remote or the trunk button in the glovebox, I hear a click but the trunk doesn't open at all. The only way I can get the trunk open is to manually use the key.

acrbill,

Thanks for the instruction, I'll try that out and see what happens.
