what does this pipe do and does anyone know what the part number is?

i ask because there is a hole in mine and i think it is spewing out hot gaseous coolant. where the arrow points is where the hole is and it seems to have corroded somehow.

and i'll answer my own question: it is the bypass hose.

 

I didn't even know there was a bypass hose.

you guys think i can drive with it leaking? just make sure the coolant is topped off?

 

It's either a bypass inlet hose, coming out of the coolant pump, or a heater hose. But seems like your green arrow is pointing to a different section of the hose.

Dude, don't drive!

It won't take much to get real hot in this weather and warp yer head! Even with coolant topped off:

1. Your coolant sys won't hold the necessary pressure for proper effectiveness, in order to avoid caviation in the water pump.

2. You'll still have air in the sys.

 

LOL, thanks man. i'm really just going to drive it tomo to get suspension install then to the shop to get the hose replaced and the coolant flushed.

(im not that ghetto)
