Wheel bearings.

You can use these, or go OEM hubs and bearings but I've used this with decent success. Plenty of DIY's around.

If you're not sure which wheel it is lift the car and punch the wheel on its side and one should rattle more than the other. That's the bad one.

To me I work the whole axle. I don't bother just replacing one shock, or one brake pad, or one tire, likewise I do both wheel bearings.

I was asking about RPM not MPH. What I'm trying to get at is whether it is wheel speed dependent or engine speed dependent. Generally wheel bearings get noisier wheel speed. From your sound clip I think I hear at least clutch buzz, which is typically engine speed dependent (decelerating from 4k to 3k RPM).

Does the noise happen with the clutch in/out?

I don't know, probably has something to do with the axle stressing the bearing under power so it's tight instead of having the inner race spin on the hub. The noise you heard was that. Glad you got it fixed!
