Ok so for the last few weeks my driver's side headlight has turned a purpleish color as opposed to the normal really clean light of the HID and seems a bit dimmer than normal. Friday night a girl backed into the front of my car on the passenger side, knocking the headlight back so it points up instead of forward and messing up my fender ect. However now when I turn my headlights on the one she hits works, but the drivers side that was purple flickers two or three times and then doesn't ever come on.

I have experience with electrical stuff but don't really know anything about HIDs and all their components so if anyone knows whats wrong or how to fix it let me know, because I doubt insurance will cover it since its on the opposite side of where I got hit. Sorry if this should have gone in the electrical forum, wasn't really sure but feel free to move it obviously if i was wrong.

sounds like a ballast issue....sometimes can be a bulb, but those are the only two things that will cause that base on your situation

 

thanks, i guess i'll switch the bulbs and see if that helps.... thats just a lot of work i didn't want to fool with if there was an easy answer.

 

yea try switching bulbs, and if it still flickers on the same side you know the problem, the ballast.
