Default HID question

If i were to use 4 balists (1 per low beam obviously) and a set for 2 D2S fogs could i splice 2 ignitors into each side for the low beams so that the set of 4 would turn on together with the low beams? I know this would present a problem(legally) when the highs come on since the fogs are supposed to turn off at this point. If anyone has a way around that too i would appreciate any input THANKS!

i don't think you can really split the power from the ballasts, pretty sure you'll need to get additional ballasts from a power regulation standpoint

Im using a total of 4 ballists for 4 bulbs. My question is if i can use the connector that goes the wires that switch the lights on to switch on both sets of HID's or if that will be too much draw on the system. Im NOT trying to use 2 ballists for 4 bulbs. Im trying to use the low beams to also switch on the second pair of ballists. I would basically splice two ballists into one connector that powers the ballists on either side.

hmmm, that's a good question, i couldn't tell you. but i guess you could try wire tapping that connection to see if it works, before you install everything. let us know

I mean an obvious fix would be to up the fuse for the lights but I want to find out if there is going to be ramifications to this setup. I dont need to blow out 4 bulbs and/or ballists haha that would be a bad scene

If what you are trying to do is add HID fog lights its not that complicated (at least not the way I did it).

I had an HID kit laying around, so I bought an EK fog kit that comes with all the wiring needed right into your fuse box (it all plugs right in, comes with relays, and a switch). And then I wired the HID kit into the fog light wiring per the instructions of the HID kit. Now I have real 3000k (yellow) fog lights. The only thing I didnt check is if they turn off when the high beams come on, ill have to check when I get the car back from the body shop. I had thought about splicing into the headlight wiring, or the running lights until I discovered that our cars have a plug for fog lights from factory in the fuse box.

hmm thats rather interesting. They plan on putting fogs on the S and then forgot to take the fuse out when they decided against it? thanks for the info thats actually really helpful. I have my D2S setup already so maybe ill just buy the fuse and switch. I also dont have the stock bumper so the EK setup wont help much anyway

Thanks for the insight though

There's a red fog light in the rear bumper of German S2000's. I don't if there are any other options in different markets.
