Driver rear would have the gas fill neck, not the convertible top motor in the way.

Just, Take gas cap off, Take the three nuts off, and pull the gas neck from the inside(put the gas cap back on if you dont want it to completely reak). Then adjust and reinstall the filler neck

 

I have average sized hands and can get back there to adjust the driver's rear. Try a different approach or get someone with smaller hands.
