Default How to check for bad coilpack

My car has a misfire code for all 4 cylinders, long story short i wanna know if my coils packs are bad how can i do this if it can be done and obviously without having to switch coilpacks with another car. If anyone knows a good place besides the dealer that i could buy the coil packs at i would really appreciate it.

If you truly have a MY05 why not just take it to the dealer? There is not much you could do to void the warranty unless possibly you are running a stand alone engine management. And to answer your question I would do a search on google. I know there are some sites that offer decent deals.

the dealer has given me alot of crap it's a pain in the ass to deal with dealers down here in Miami, i've gone to two, i only have a full exhaust and intake. They would find any damn excuse they tell me they would need to check for bad valves and diagnose the whole car to see where the misfire is coming from, they're not sure if the warranty will cover the valve check sicne the car has mods to it. So i rather just buy the coilpacks and keep on, the car is pretty new only has 14k miles so it shouldn't be giving me anymore problems.

considering the coilpacks alone would cost you at least $400, and may not even fix the problem, why are you bothering? there's many other things that can cause random misfires.

not to mention they can't just "void" your warranty because you have an intake. they'd have to prove the intake caused the damage. magnusson-moss warranty act is your friend.

That's true, i don't think the intake or the exhaust have will be a cause to void the warranty, they also say that my tranny is badly assembled. Well the problem there is that i had my 2nd gear popping out so the dealer fixed it but i guess they did a shitty job at it and now they blame everything on my having done crap to the car. I'll just take it then to another more reputable dealer. I shoule get more info on this law so they don't BS anymore.

Post in your regional forum and ask for a reputable honda dealer in your area.

It shouldn't run, or at least not very well if all 4 cylinders were misfiring.

You could swap the coil packs around, but seeing as you have the DTC misfire code for all 4 cylinders, the only way to test them would be to swap them with another car.

The Helm manual does not show how to test these coil packs.

i swapped the coils around the the pattern of misfire, or popping noise changes abit, like there's more/less time between pops. So i'm guessing they're not all bad. But yeah i'll definitely try to swap them to atleast make sure its that and then go to a good dealer and try to talk to someone. thanks everyone for your help, mod you could close the topic when desired.
