Default How do I jack up a lowered s2k?

Hey everyone,

I need to jack my car up to take off my wheels but do not have any good ideas on how to get my jack under my car. The car has lowered springs and I am dropped a total of about 2 inches all around not giving me enough clearance to slide the jack under to get started. Any ideas on how to get around this other than find a lift at a shop?

Thanks!

You could try driving the car up onto a couple of 2X12 boards, that would give you 1.5 inches of added clearance.

I use a set of low profile ramps from here and then a Harbor Freight aluminum floor jack.

I appreciate the help. I will look into picking a set of these up.

In addition to ramps, harbor freight sells a jack that goes lower than any other jack I've seen (except OEM and expensive specialty jacks). I can't remember the precise model off the top of my head but the pad goes down to 2-5/8". It also lifts higher than most jacks out there. If I need to get the front of my car up I jack one side, place ramp under front wheel, jack other side, insert ramp, go to front cross member and jack to desired height. Finish off with jackstands.

Sounds like a good system that is safe. I will look today or the next when I make a trip to look for the ramps to see if they also have that jack.

You can use the OEM scissor jack...it should still fit under there. Once you get it up enough, you can then use your jack to lift it the rest of the way. This is what I do since I do not have a low profile jack. I use the OEM jack to get it started and then use my other jack to finish.

Great Answer Reckon! I appreciate the great idea. This saves me some money so I can buy a new steering wheel instead of spending money on ramps/boards/new jacks.

This is what I did when my car was too low to fit a jack under
