It is DRL, not DLR.

 

Why do you want to turn off your RLD?

 

because i don't like the LRD
the RDL doesn't look too good on the car
so back to the question, is there a way to turn off the LDR?

 

I believe you can pull a fuse to turn it off. But I don't have DRLs so I can't be more specific.

Remove fuse 14 under the dash.

 

unplug the high beam connector. but you wont be able to use your highbeams. thats how i did it on my lexus GS300.

 

Odd.. I was trying tracking down a solution tonight using the wiring diagrams from the service manual. As I understand the schematic, voltage to the high beam bulbs is controlled by the DRL Control Unit, modulating between low voltage for the DRLs and 12v for the high beams when commanded. Some research has shown that the DRLs are disabled when the parking brake is activated. This agrees with the schematic as the DRL Control Unit has parking brake input (Green wire, PIN 6). I think, that the DRLs can be disabled by breaking this connection and taking PIN 6/Green wire to ground.
