Default How much $ should a compression test cost?

I'm bringing in my car to have the Spark Plug Recall done tomorrow.

I had a severe oil loss due to a failure with an oil cooler gasket. This was about 5,000 miles ago. I am going to request that the dealer do compression test to see if it turns up anything unusual.

Any idea how much a dealer might charge for something like this? From what I have gathered from other posts, this should take about a 1/2 hour of shop time?

Thanks,
Michael

Correct. I wouldn't spend more than 1/2 hour of labor on it. I wouldn't even spend that; for the cost of the labor, you can buy your own gauge, and you can do the test yourself. It's pretty simple.

The plugs are out anyway so it should only be a few minutes extra...

Yeah, I was about to say...It shouldn't cost any setup time since everything is off already...

Once the plugs are out the dealer should do it for next to nothing.

50 bucks, damn I spent 20 on mine. Just don't forget to take out the ECU fuses so the fuel pump doesn't work.
