Default How to remove ignition from steering column

Pardon my ignorance but how do I get the ignition off the steering column? They seem to be held in by two pins that don't want to come off easily.

Thanks you. I'll try a smaller chisel.

Cut a slot in the head with a dremel, then back it out with a flathead screwdriver.

I think this is the proper way to remove it... the chisel is not working at all...

Unfortunately I don't have a dremel so I think I might just drill it out.

A razor sharp chisel will have them out in seconds. Catch the bolt on the edge so the hammer strike turns the bolt counterclockwise (the heads will be very difficult to chisel off, but will turn easy if caught right)

This thread is a little dated, I'm sure it's resolved

Reversed drill bits. Drill I small hole about 1/2 deep. Then step up 2-3 sizes. When larger bit bites it unscrews shear bolts. Small cold chisel works good also.

Here i am two years later looking at my own thread. This time I used a dreamer to cut a slit for a flathead and it came out so easy!
